Values & Behaviours

ACROSS works to a set of clear values and behaviours which underpin all aspects of our work and our objectives. All trustees and staff are required to adhere to these values and demonstrate them throughout their work for the charity. We also share these with our supporters and travellers, and encourage them to adopt this same ethos whenever they travel with or promote ACROSS in any way.

  • We trust and empower each other to make the right decisions
  • We all know what we’re each accountable for and we support each other as we play our part
  • We don’t seek to blame but to learn
  • We are fair and ethical, gaining the respect of others through acting with integrity
Passion and Inspiration
  • We’re passionate about everything we do and everything ACROSS stands for
  • We want to share our aims and goals with those around us
  • We’re warm, welcoming and help those who travel with us feel part of the ACROSS family
  • We thrive by involving others in what we do, inspiring as many people as possible to champion our cause
Unique Quality of Service
  • Our transport is unique – and so is our service
  • We believe in exceptional service to customers and colleagues
  • We have a “can do” attitude and will always try to go the extra mile to make the impossible possible
  • We always do what we say we’ll do, and exceed people’s expectations, ensuring they engage with us now and in the future
  • We value all our supporters equally and are grateful for their varied skills and contribution
Innovation and Change
  • Our history stems from ground-breaking transport and a fresh approach to an old problem – so we are continually looking for ways to do things better
  • We are open to new ideas and try new things
  • We’re open to people’s views, needs and suggestions – not bossy or excluding
Developing Self and Others
  • We take accountability for own learning and self development
  • We keep up to date with technical skills, applying new knowledge on the job
  • We share knowledge and expertise with others to help them develop
  • We give colleagues honest feedback to help them learn
